The first time the security men went in the main building, the dogs would not go above the second floor above the WRVS tea place and they started howling ... on one occasion four of the men were walking down the kitchen corridor where all the doors were closed, and they became aware of a strange phenomenon like a wind, one man bolted, the other felt as though a whirlpool had engulfed him ... on another occasion one man was asleep in the office in one of the outbuildings and he woke with the sensation of someone stroking his cheek ... the building had pockets of different atmospheres as though it was inhabited by past lives or spirits ... overall though it was a healing, comforting atmosphere, but in some places it was troubled and unhappy.
